(140 Words, #20) The Boy Who Could See Methane

by Stu Andrews on April 28, 2011

in 140 Words

Hello. My name is Steve. And I can see methane.

It’s not a super-power of choice. It’s a curse really, when you think about it.

I mean, I see every single expulsion from the human body. Don’t get me started on cows.

“It’s a gift boy.” In his gruff voice my father would try and encourage me.

Some gift.

For a while I began to go all “Doctor Evil”, using my powers for the detriment of other people’s dignity.

Can you imagine what it’s like to be able to know just _who_ dealt it?

But today is the first day of a new job in a software development startup. We’re going to change the world. Noone here knows about my smelly little secret.

And no, I can’t see my own gas. Thankfully.
