Events
Innovate09 (PayPal)
In November 2009 I had the amazing experience of going to San Francisco and attending Innovate09, the first PayPal Developers Conference.
On the first night there was a party, and the guys made me the happiest ‘gal in the world, letting me sing “The PayPal Song”. Awesome.
As an aside, I also got to sing “Super Powered Geek”.
CloudCamp Sydney 2009
In my first ever visit to the Google building in Sydney, I had the opportunity to do something a little different for a lightning talk, and so wrote and performed “The Cloud Song”.
Barcamp Sydney 2009
A Barcamp is a strange beast. It’s the “UN” organised event. You turn up with your soapbox and pick a time to start preaching.
For this event I re-wrote A Super Heroes Guide To Development, and prepared a song. Unfortunately, or fortunately really, I had to beg and grovel to get time for just the song, but it was the song in front of everyone. The first live recording of “Super Powered Geek”.
Clarion Aussie Devcon 2008, 2009
In 2008 and 2009 I had the privilege of being the MC at the Clarion Developers Conference in Australia. Both of these Conferences were held in Eden.

Websites Developed
Forque
Forque is a website that I helped create. I was given the design and asked to “make it work”. Using the most excellent WordPress and the amazing Thesis theme, this was a lot easier than you would think.
Of particular interest was giving the User the ability to add pictures and text to the sidebar, such as in the recipe Tagliatelle with Ragu.
I have to give big props to Tim of Hammer and Tongs Creative, the master of design. He worked out WordPress, the theme logic and Thesis’s customised CSS logic in a matter of no time at all. Genius.
Ashfield Presbyterian
Using WordPress (for a change) and the (now defunct) Office theme from StudioPress, I put together our church’s website.
This site is still very much under development. There’s a lot of different elements to consider in comparison to a generic blog. Obviously.
Published Stories
Twenty Years
- 16th April 2009
Twenty Years is another “kind of” fantasy short story, published by Every Day Fiction.
It’s been a month since my return. If you’re reading this, you probably aren’t going to believe what I say in this diary. Sometimes I don’t believe it myself.
A Magic Sword
- 20th January 2009
A Magic Sword is a short fantasy story, published by Every Day Fiction.
“A magic sword.” It was very clear to Tom. “It must be a magic sword, with magic… stuff. I need to kill the Dragon.”

Dev Dawn
Where to begin? Well … at the beginning. If we lived in the world of The Princess Bride, then we would be Vizzini.
No. That’s not right.
If this were Joss Whedon’s Serenity-Verse, then we would be Mr Universe.
No. Again, not right.
Dev Dawn is about Ideas.
Pimp My Clarion
My old Clarion blog.
